Marks starts off teaching the new student how to hold the guitar and explains the parts of the guitar and how to hold it. He then shows how to tune your guitar and left and right had techniques. He shows how to strum your guitar and explains how to use rhythm strums. He then goes into chords used for all types of songs. He explains how to use different finger picking techniques and how to use guitar picks for strumming and lead playing. Before long you will be playing songs like Johnny be Good, Blues Boogie Woogies, Leaving on a Jet Plane, Landslide by Fleetwood Mac, and I'll walk the Line by Johnny Cash.
